Twenty-five years ago on October 31st I married my help-meet. Country met city and moved to the country, then back to the city, then to the country, to the city, country,…well you know it really doesn’t matter, as long as we are together I would live anywhere with her.
Many people are surprised to learn that we were married on Halloween.
“Did you dress up” they ask.
“We sure did. She dressed up like a bride and I dressed up like a Sailor.” (That was the dressiest clothes I had at the time)
It hasn’t been all “candy and costumes,” we’ve had our share of rough patches, as all married couples have and will have. But I believe the greatest factor in our success through these patches was our continued reliance and trust in God. It wasn’t easy for her to see God through me as I am far from even being a dull impression of the revelation of God revealed through Jesus, the ultimate man and husband.
We have grown much together in so many ways that I can’t even remember my life before her and I can’t fathom my life without her. By the grace of God we are not what we once were and by the continued grace of God we will be who God desires us to be.
Faith, Family and Outdoors is our motto and always will be to the end.
Happy Anniversary Honey!
