Great Expectations!

In starting this blog, I had several ideas of what I wanted it to be. Based on years of successful and not so successful experiences in small group settings and varying experiences in congregational settings, I conceived of the following possibilities;

Perhaps a “guest blog” format, for “those who can’t” regularly and only post periodically.

Maybe a “Q & A” format, allowing followers to determine the topics on which I post.

Even a “free-for-all” facilitated by me in which I would determine the discussion topics.

But upon further reflection these proposals are about “forms” and not at all in line with this blog’s “functions” as stated previously. This is an outlet and platform for my story as a means to open up a conversation to hear your story. Through this (our) conversation I desire to encourage and be encouraged and instill hope in those who grace its’ pages.

About me as “a godly man, a family man and a manly man.” These (Faith, Family and Outdoors) will be the topics and subjects of primary focus, not to be limited to these of course (hence “The Shop” page, it’s coming fellas). Besides, you never know what random thought may enter my head that I deem worthy of a conversation.

My dream is to restore hope for you men in this “present evil age,” that we can be “godly men” in an ungodly age, that we can be “family men” in an unfamiliar culture, and that we can be “manly men” in a generation of girly-men. And the key lies in finding our identity.

To you ladies, this is not just a “man” blog. I will touch on topics of interest to you as well, and your input will be greatly appreciated and much needed.
